Hello again! I'm Tasha, and I'm here to bring you the second week of osu!weekly, osu!'s weekly news digest.
To start off this week, we have some very good news! osu! over this past week has reached the 6 million mark in user accounts made and we're still growing! How long until we reach 7 million user accounts I wonder?
Applications for Beatmap Nominator Group are opening this upcoming Monday. If you have been a contributing, helpful modder and want to be part of this team, be sure to check this out and apply! You can also recommend a modder with this form, so if you know someone who you feel should be part of this team, you can fill this form out for them as well. Applications close March 29'th, so be sure to get in your applications before then!
The Taiko World Cup round of 16 finished up this weekend. While none of the teams have been eliminated yet, half the teams have been moved to the losers bracket. To find out what teams stayed in the winners bracket or got moved to the losers bracket, look here. There is also weekly recaps of previous rounds uploaded to the osu!live youtube channel that gives a summary of previous rounds. Be sure to tune in to the quarterfinal matches being streamed on the official osu! stream this upcoming weekend! You definitely won't want to miss it!
Taiko World Cup: Last Man Standing 2 registrations are underway. This tournament is an alternate taiko tournament run by Backfire where the rules are similar to that of the official Taiko World Cup, but with a twist in how teams are knocked out. The player who scores the lowest during a match is eliminated until all three players on a team are beaten, winning the other team the match. Be sure to sign up if you are interested in this cup before it's too late!
The QCUP tournament registrations are now closed and will be underway in April. Hosted by jojajim2, the tournament will have two main events; There is an online tournament followed by an in person tournament that will be held at Summer DreamHack 2015. The online tournament will start on the 11'th of April. The brackets for the online tournament can be viewed here.
More information about osu!next has been released to the public. This week we got a sneak peek at some of the fancy new dialog boxes and some song select screen buttons that have been updated.
osu! player and streamer HappyStick is attempting to do a full time streaming gig on twitch streaming osu!. If you want to show your support or tune in to see what his stream is like, you can take a look here.
osu!profile is a program created by Entrivax to track your pp progress while playing. The program works with each game mode and can even be integrated into OBS for ease of streaming and to enhance viewer experience.
A website extension that shows performance score ratings for songs on the osu! webpage has been under development by Ezoda and Piotrekol, giving players a quick way to check how much performance points the top 50 scores are getting on a map through the osu! website.
