Hello again! Tasha here, bringing you another week of osu!weekly. We've got some exciting changes coming to osu! soon, including a sweeping new change that while it won't be mentioned in the news, it's sure to surprise you all!
Beatmap Nomination Group applications are open just a little while longer, closing March 29'th. If you've been looking to join the BNG and haven't already applied or had just forgotten, this is your chance! You can apply directly here.
The osu!sticker contest, an official contest that will be using osu! merchandise stickers, has begun. Players are to use the stickers to make real life beatmaps, the best designed pictures being the ones that will win the prize. The deadline for submissions for this contest is May 31'st at 00:00UTC, so you guys have plenty of time to work on this and submit your best works!
The results of the Taiko World Cup 2015 quarterfinals are in! Argentina, Finland, Poland and Canada managed to avoid elimination in the losers bracket, which unfortunately means Spain, Ukraine, Philippines and Indonesia have been eliminated. The OCWT7, a tournament run by Prophet, is the first time the tournament has been opened internationally for all registrants. The semifinals are coming up for it this weekend, so be sure to tune in. There are three different streams, which can be seen here (English stream), here, and here (Chinese streams). Be sure to check out the match schedule so you know when to tune in!
osu!talk interview with buraimaster1234, an old osu! player from 2008 who has recently resurfaced. Some of the topics that were went over were about why he originally left, why he returned, other rhythm games he played, 'burai sliders', and more. If you're interested in seeing how an older player adapted to the new community after five year hiatus, be sure to check this out!
osu!talk interview with Nashmun, a top level taiko player was finished recently. Some topics covered were about different rhythm games he had played, discussion about different input methods he'd tried, some in depth talk about his performance in Taiko World Cups, some discussion about other modes, as well as his mapping background. If you want to know a little more about one of the top taiko players from France, be sure to listen to this one!
There have been updates to the latest cutting edge version of osu!. Some changes include wiimote support for taiko mode (without the Tatacon connected), addition of the Czech localizations, the ability to bind quick retry to a custom key and fixes to custom skins for mania to allow column lines to show properly when the judgement line is moved.
Have you ever been interested in keeping track of how much time you spend playing osu!? A program made to track your time spent in osu!, called osu!tt, is a program made by LoliFlan that does just that! This little program keeps track of any time that osu! is open for you, making it quite good to keep track of your total playtime.
There's a new community voice question that asks the community what mechanical switches they prefer for osu! use. If you want to have a say in what switches the new osu!keyboard is going to use, and what shell colours are available, you should check this out, vote, and reply!
osu!next has provided more information about the future of osu!, giving us a really cool look at some new profile related badges for tournaments that will show on profiles, as well as their implementation with teams!
