osu!weekly #24

Hello everyone! Tasha here. I'd like to apologize in advance if I miss anything this week (hopefully I haven't!) as it's been pretty hectic around here the past few days with the upcoming Mania World Cup. There's a bit to talk about so let's get started!

The 4k osu!Mania World Cup group stage is starting this weekend! The first match will be on Saturday at 12PM UTC, with the last match on Sunday at 5PM UTC. If you'd like to see the schedule for the matches, you can see them on the wiki page, located here. As a bonus, the osu!news youtube channel has created several videos showcasing each team, giving those who are unfamiliar with the mode a very brief look at the teams participating. We hope you can tune in and enjoy cheering for some of the best mania players that osu! has to offer!

The osu! UK Tournament #4 has finally concluded! Tasty Beverage faced off against Doomsday in the finals match, winning 6-0 against the popular mouse player. A recording of the match can be found on the OUKT4 official twitch channel, so be sure to check it out and see how this tournament came to its end!

The July 2015 monthly charts are now live. Players monstrata, Stefan, ExRei and Harbyter are the map selectors for this month.. If you'd like to see why they chose certain songs, the official news post goes into more detail for that with comments on each song chosen. Make sure to get your best scores on the chart songs before the 15'th of September to go for first place! While on the topic of charts, the June 2015 charts winners have been decided, players AmaiHachimitsu, tasuke912, CheungB and Cryolien all placing first in their respective modes, earning them one month of supporter. Congratulations to all who participated!

On monday, osu!academy uploaded a new osu!talk video talking about osu!idol where previous judges of the osu!idol sat and talked a bit about the history of osu!idol and how it was revived. For all you talented singers out there, you may find this discussion interesting as it also goes over some rules for the currently running osu!idol.

The 11th Monthly Beatmapping Contest is coming up soon with the staff of the event searching for players to judge the next set of submissions. This mapping contest will be osu!mania specific, just in time for the 4k Mania World Cup.Please keep in mind before applying that this event takes a lot of your time as a judge, so don't apply if you don't think you'll have the time!

The Chat Moderator group has now been merged with the Global Moderation Team. This means that all moderators who were previously channel specific are now able to assist players and moderate in any channels they are in. On top of this, we had several members moved to the alumni on August 20th, as well as one QAT, Lust, being removed.
