Storyboard(er) Showcase #4

by Ephemeral

Continuing on the trend of featuring the community's best talent, we present to you another storyboard(er) showcase, this time featuring 11t!

Widely considered an 'era-defining' storyboarder by the community, 11t quickly rose to prominence, demonstrating his incredible knack for creating fluid backing visuals that complimented a map as you played along. In stark contrast to the more visually intense storyboarders of the time (such as Damnae), 11t's work was beautifully atmospheric in its own, unique way.

To give this some context, storyboarding has often been considered one of the hardest aspects of osu! creative development and design. Intrepid storyboarders are given only the most cursory of tools to make their dreams into reality, and though this has improved significantly over the years with tools like SGL, storyboarding still remains one of the most difficult and time-consuming endeavors around.

Despite the difficulty, 11t produced a number of beautiful pieces that continue to inspire awe to this day. From his hallmark lyric wheel in MyonMyonMyonMyonMyonMyon!, to the sunlit stratospheric reaches of EOS, and the singing skies of Okaerinasai, there's something in 11t's work for everyone.

His talent proved so impressive that alongside Damnae, he was one of the first users ever to be given the "Elite Storyboarder" title, an honor afforded to very few people, and a feat that ranks him permanently in the osu! Hall of Fame.

It is with great delight that we present our showcase of some of 11t's work for you to enjoy:

The darkest hour is just before the dawn.
