The new osu!taiko mascot is here!
After almost a year in the making, the new osu!taiko mascot is finally ready to enter the scene. Say hello to Mocha!
Over ten months ago, we held a contest to determine the visual design for the mascot of the osu!taiko gamemode. The contest descended into legend as we deliberated on the results - many of the community-made mascots rising into infamy through the various fan art contests we held in the meanwhile.
It is time.
We present to you, the brand new official mascot for osu!taiko - Mocha!

Mocha represents the second time in osu!'s history where the creators of the game and the community have come together to create a gamemode's mascot. The first time resulted in pippi's original and now timeless design, born from the collaborative efforts of awp, Sinistro, Loginer and Sarumaru in a similar contest held over IRC and the forums in late 2008.
The child of Crowie's concept design and flyte's design direction, Mocha finally coming to life is something we're super excited to see, and we hope that you love her just as much as we do.
To celebrate, we'll be holding a fanart contest in her honor in the coming weeks. If you're of the artistic type, get scribbling in preparation, and keep your eyes peeled on the news!
