This article details all the major events in the history of the osu! wiki from the MediaWiki era through the present day.

2011-12-05: The barebones of the osu! wiki was put into place, with Ephemeral making the first edits.
2011-12-06: The osu! wiki went live to the public.

2012-11-29: Repflez and Dellirium were added to the osu! wiki's Mediawiki admins.

2013-01-27: peppy integrated the osu! wiki with the main site design.

Unknown date: The osu! wiki became a true information centre of osu! after core pages such the osu! team and the Rules were migrated over to the wiki.
Unknown date: deadbeat and Loctav were added to the osu! wiki's Mediawiki admins.

Unknown date: The osu! wiki received an influx of contributors who did article translations to their native languages.
Unknown date: Dellirium's position as an admin was replaced by Shiro.

2016-02-22: Ukami and Galkan were added to the osu! wiki's Mediawiki admins.

2016-04-01: Nathanael was added to the osu! wiki's Mediawiki admins.

2016-08-30: The osu! wiki running on MediaWiki began to be deprecated in favour of the GitHub repository version, although it would stay accessible until the GitHub version was ready to be deployed with all the pages and images ported.

2017-06-26: The osu! wiki running on MediaWiki was officially decommissioned. The links to the old wiki were now made to redirect to the new GitHub-based wiki. A snapshot of the old wiki without the MediaWiki functionalities can be found here.

2016-08-26: peppy created the osu-wiki repository.

2016-09-02: craftu and XYLOO finished porting most the legacy osu! wiki contents from MediaWiki to the repository, leaving only the images and certain syntax errors due to the differences between MediaWiki's Wikitext and GitHub's Markdown language.

2017-01-26: Ephemeral talked about the upcoming integration of the GitHub repository with the osu! website itself in a development blog post.
Unknown date: nanaya finished the backend support of the new osu! wiki, allowing the wiki to be fully integrated with the osu! website.

2017-05-22: The osu!news archive, which was previously hosted on Tumblr, was migrated over to the osu! wiki.
2017-05-30: Page redirection was added to the wiki.

Unknown date: TPGPL was given a special write-access to the osu! wiki repository.
Unknown date: Search functionality was added to the wiki.

2018-02-07: Article tags were added to the wiki to allow for better search results.

2021-05-12: Infoboxes were added to the wiki.

2021-06-01: GPR implemented the osu! wiki overlay in osu!(lazer), allowing certain pages of the wiki to be accessed directly from inside the osu!(lazer) client.

2021-08-08: Gallery support was added to the wiki.
2021-08-12: Footnotes were added to the wiki.
