Featured Artist Beatmap Updates from the Mappers' Guild

There's a ton of new beatmaps, completed quests, and medals from the Mappers' Guild celebrating osu!'s featured artists!

Since the previous update a lot has been happening in the guild, with over 20 quests completed, over 100 beatmaps ranked, and 16 new medals for you to earn, all tied to the rapidly growing Featured Artist library!

For those who don't know yet, the Mappers' Guild is a way for mappers with three or more ranked beatmaps to earn rewards for creating beatmaps of songs from the Featured Artist library. If you're interested in the guild, be sure to look at the Mappers' Guild wiki page for more information.

Today we'll be going over Mappers' Guild development, finished quests, featured artist beatmap pack and medal updates, and a list of all ranked featured artist beatmaps since our last news post in late November. Now let's start going through all the changes since last update!

Mappers' Guild system updates

Recently there has been quite a few developments in the Mappers' Guild system, as part of regular rebalancing and improving guild productivity!

  • Anyone can view the website - Before, it was limited to only members, but now anyone can check in and keep up with what Mappers' Guild members are making, so be sure to check it out if you are curious about what the mappers are working on.
  • Solo quests are now available - This gives mappers the option to work on smaller projects if that is what they prefer.
  • Monthly Beatmapping Contests - Guild members who participate can also earn points in the Mappers' Guild for doing so, which you can read more about on the linked wiki page. Winners of the contest may also join the guild, bypassing the typical 3 ranked maps requirement.
  • Guild points will now be spent on tasks - Total points earned over time will still be logged, but now various functions such as accepting quests or extending deadlines and will have an associated point value that must be spent. For accepting quests, normal pack quests will be very cheap, such as 0 points, while solo quests or gimmicky ones (like the previous High Tempo pack) will have higher prices.
  • Quests now expire 3 months after being created - This means any quest that's still open will be moved to the "expired quests" section. All currently open quests that are older than 3 months will expire on April 2nd. To take quests after they have expired, additional guild points will need to be spent.
  • Quest bonus points have been revised - The old quest rewards (1-15 points for finishing a quest) no longer exist and focus has been shifted to the per-difficulty bonus points. Quests that are completed on time will get an additional bonus along with that.

A lot of the specific values for the points systems are still being worked on, so if you're a guild member and find it doesn't feel right, such as being too harsh or lenient, be sure to forward your feedback to pishifat!

Finished quests

Aether Realm header

For the Aether Realm mini-pack (osu!taiko) quest, the mappers had to create and rank at least 3 mapsets of songs by Aether Realm, each hosted by a different user.

This quest was completed by Raiden, Greenshell, LZD and frukoyurdakul!

Carpool Tunnel header

For the Carpool Tunnel mini-pack quests, the mappers had to create and rank at least 4 mapsets of songs by Carpool Tunnel, each hosted by a different user.

The osu! version of this quest was completed by -Aqua, newton-, nextplay, domSaur, Mocaotic, Hinsvar, _Epreus and squirrelpascals!

The osu!catch version of this quest was completed by Jemzuu, Crowley, JierYagtama, Du5t and Dapuluous!

F-777 header

For the F-777 solo quests, each mapper had to create and rank 1 mapset in their mode of any song by F-777.

The osu! version of this quest was completed by DTM9 Nowa!

The osu!taiko version of this quest was completed by Cynplytholowazy!

The osu!mania version of this quest was completed by Feerum!

False Noise header

For the False Noise duo (osu!taiko) quest, the mappers had to create and rank at least 2 mapsets of songs by False Noise, each hosted by a different user.

This quest was completed by Faputa, Cynplytholowazy and [Zeth]!

Frums header

For the Frums mini-pack (osu!taiko, osu!) quest, the mappers had to create and rank at least 4 mapsets of songs by Frums, each hosted by a different user.

This quest was completed by Nifty, Genjuro, _DUSK_, Vulkin, Ulqui, Nerova Riuz GX and Alchyr!

HyuN header

For the HyuN duo quests, the mappers had to create and rank 2 or more mapsets of songs by HyuN, each hosted by a different user.

The osu!taiko version of this quest was completed by Faputa, Capu, [_Chichinya_] and Vulkin!

The osu!catch version of this quest was completed by MBomb, JBHyperion, Jemzuu and Absolute Zero!

IAHN header

For the IAHN mini-pack (osu!) quest, the mappers had to create and rank at least 4 mapsets of songs by IAHN, each hosted by a different user.

This quest was completed by Sonnyc, Riana, Cellina, Reillia, Left, Beomsan, Ujimatsu Chiya and lolia!

KNOWER header

For the KNOWER mini-pack (osu!, osu!taiko) quest, the mappers had to create and rank at least 4 mapsets of songs by KNOWER, each hosted by a different user.

This quest was completed by Pachiru, Gabe, Irreversible, Imakuri, fieryrage, radar, Mismagius and Nozhomi!

Kola Kid header

For the Kola Kid short song mini-pack (osu!mania) quest, the mappers had to create and rank one mapset for each Kola Kid songs with a length below 1:00, each hosted by a different user.

This quest was completed by Unpredictable, Hydria and Feerum!

Loki header

For the Loki's "Tales of the Mountains" (osu!) quest, the mappers had to create and rank a mapset for each song in Loki's concept album "Tales of the Mountains", each hosted by a different user.

This quest was completed by Cris-, walaowey, Minorsonek, Cosmolade, Gero, Tatan, Crissa, pkhg, Seolv and TheShadowOfDark!

Mystery header

For the Mystery Electronic mini-pack (osu!taiko) quest, the mappers had to create and rank at least 3 mapsets of unpublished electronic songs by one of our unreleased featured artists. These maps were created in secret by guild members to accompany the MYLK Featured Artist Announcement this past December.

This quest was completed by tasuke912, salchow, HiroK, Nepuri, Cynplytholowazy and Nardoxyribonucleic!

Mystery header

For the Mystery Rock mini-pack (osu!, osu!taiko, osu!catch) quest, the mappers had to create and rank at least 3 mapsets of unpublished rock songs by one of our unreleased featured artists. These maps were created in secret by guild members to accompany the Blue Stahli Featured Artist Announcement this past January.

This quest was completed by fieryrage, Sinnoh, MBomb, Cynplytholowazy, idke and salchow!

Native Construct header

For the Native Construct mini-pack quests, the mappers had to create and rank at least 3 mapsets of songs by Native Construct. At least one mapset had to be for Chromatic Aberration.

The osu! version of this quest was completed by Dendy, Daycore and piroshki!

The osu!taiko and osu!mania version of this quest was completed by Faputa, Cynplytholowazy and FAMoss!

Nekrogoblikon header

For the Nekrogoblikon mini-pack (osu!) quest, the mappers had to create and rank at least 3 mapsets of songs by Nekrogoblikon.

This quest was completed by LMT, Icekalt, Mun, Hectic, Nao Tomori and SILENCE PLAYER!

Panda Eyes header

For the On My Own (osu!taiko) quest, the mappers had to create and rank beatmap for "On My Own" by Panda Eyes.

This quest was completed by Cynplytholowazy and Faputa!

For the Panda Eyes solo quests, each mapper had to create and rank 1 mapset in their mode of any song by Panda Eyes.

The osu! version of this quest was completed by Hazu-!

The osu!catch version of this quest was completed by Nelly!

The osu!mania version of this quest was completed by Leniane!

Ricky Montgomery header

For the Ricky Montgomery mini-pack (osu!) quest, the mappers had to create and rank at least 3 mapsets of songs by Ricky Montgomery.

This quest was completed by Trynna and eiri-!

For the Ricky Montgomery solo quests, each mapper had to create and rank 1 mapset in their mode of any song by Ricky Montgomery.

The osu! version of this quest was completed by hypercyte!

The osu!taiko version of this quest was completed by Faputa!

The osu!catch version of this quest was completed by -Joni-!

The osu!mania version of this quest was completed by Feerum!

Wisp X header

For the Wisp X mini-pack (osu!) quest, the mappers had to create and rank at least 4 mapsets of songs by Wisp X, each hosted by a different user.

This quest was completed by defiance, Aeril, yaspo, bor, greenhue and Nao Tomori!

onumi header

For the onumi mini-pack (osu!) quest, the mappers had to create and rank at least 4 mapsets of songs by onumi, each hosted by a different user.

This quest was completed by PandaHero, Hectic, Mirash and Leader!

Pack and medal updates

We are pleased to bring you a whole slew of packs and medals! Both new and old packs for featured artist beatmaps have received medals which you can find on your profile and unlock now!

New featured artist packs this update:

  • onumi Pack: osu! and osu!catch beatmaps from their respective onumi mini-pack quests.
  • Carpool Tunnel Pack: osu! and osu!catch beatmaps from their respective Carpool Tunnel mini-pack quests.
  • Wisp X Pack: This includes both beatmaps from the Wisp X mini-pack quest and other Wisp X beatmaps by Mappers' Guild members!
  • Creo Pack: osu! and osu!catch beatmaps from their respective Creo mini-pack quests.
  • cYsmix Pack: A compilation of cYsmix beatmaps ranked over the years, featuring 12 beatmaps from a wide variety of mappers to enjoy.
  • Fractal Dreamers Pack: A compilation of various Fractal Dreamers beatmaps accross a wide variety of their song selection.
  • UNDEAD CORPORATION Pack: This pack features old classics and new editions of beatmaps of UNDEAD CORPORATION songs by the community.
