Hello there! I'm Tasha, and I'm here to bring you the first week of osu!weekly! osu!weekly is a weekly news digest covering the latest happenings of the game and its community.
We will be covering both big and small tournaments, new programs and tools being made for use with osu!, changes being made to cutting edge, as well as news about plans for the future of osu!
Taiko World Cup's group stage completed this weekend, pitting 24 different teams against each other for a battle to make it to the round of 16. The results of group stage can be found here. Be sure to tune in to the RO16 matches being streamed on the official osu! stream this upcoming weekend!
Monthly Beatmapping Contest #7 results are now available, this being the first contest featuring all game modes. The winning mappers have had their maps bundled into the game for all players to enjoy.
Simulation of modding v2 has continued to progress, the Beatmap Appreciation Team being changed into Beatmap Nominators, and the process of joining the Beatmap Nominators being changed to be more automatic.
Interview with UK player and tournament organizer PortalLife goes over his history in the game, talking about how he started, when he got into the tournament scene, and a bit of information about an upcoming tournament being run by him.
Interview with part time developer and support team member MillhioreF talks about the support team and how he gained interest in doing support work for the website, discusses how he got into playing easy mod, and most importantly, we find out how to say his name.
Discussion with deadbeat, flyte, and the game's lead developer peppy leads into sneak peeks of new features and content in the works, as well as the new website currently in development for osu!
Storyboard rules have been updated, opening up more options for storyboarders with larger image sizes, allowing storyboarders to match the current max resolution for background images with their storyboard images.
New taiko mapping rules have been introduced, allowing taiko mappers more freedom in how they map, reducing restrictions on how finish notes are used in ranked mapping.
osu!record, a replay to youtube service has been run by Darkimmortal over the past two years, letting players quickly upload their own replays to youtube without having to record or encode the videos themselves.
Community created Catch the Beat top 20 of 2014 video has been released, showcasing the top 20 players based on the results of community polling and discussion.
The cutting edge version of osu! has been updated. Changes include updates to the API to allow more freedom for getting scores and beatmaps, fixes to volume sliders to prevent unexpected silence in game, alignment fixes for widescreen resolution users in multiplayer rooms and fixes for skin previews to show the proper font.
